What Makes Applied Technologies Different From the Rest?

We provide an innovative, career-focused high school inclusive of technical education programs that can prepare students for the real world, and serve as an alternative to college or path that leads to college in a moral and wholesome environment that fosters leadership, respect, and hard work.

There are no full-service high schools in the state of Arizona that offer a rigorous core academic program AND high-quality CTE programs in ONE location. Students who attend Applied Technologies will graduate with a high school diploma AND industry certifications in their chosen vocation.

Is Applied Technologies Like EVIT?

While there are some similarities, ALA Applied Technologies differs from EVIT and other trade schools, as it is a 9-12 tuition-free charter school where students earn both their high school diploma AND industry certifications in one location without the need to coordinate travel between campuses. The college and career prep school is the first of its kind in the state that supports students’ career exploration goals!

EVIT is a grade 11 and 12 public, career, and technical education district (CTED) that serves students who reside in East Valley school districts. Students split their day between their career preparation program and their home high school.

How Many Years of Study Is Each Academy?

All our Academy courses begin in the 10th-grade year EXCEPT for Aviation Mechanics and Cosmetology which are 4-year programs due to the number of hours required for certifications.

How Do I Enroll My Child?

Official registration for all ALA schools is now open! You can apply for enrollment through our website: https://www.alaschools.org/applied-technologies

Are There Elective Courses for Students to Explore?

Our elective offerings are limited. Students will use their Academy courses as their electives.

Will There Be Athletics at the School?

ALA Applied Technologies will offer Spanish and American Sign Language.

Will Applied Technologies Have Clubs and Activities?

Yes! Each Academy offers a Career and Technical Student Organization that helps students identify career options and foster interpersonal skills in teamwork, communications, and social interactions. We will have an honor society, student government, yearbook, and traditional high school dances like homecoming and prom. As our school opens, students will help design the clubs and activities in our school.

Will There Be Any Extracurricular Fine Arts Activities Such as Plays at This School?

Our school’s resources are devoted to providing the specialized equipment and instruction appropriate and necessary to give students the training and experience they need in their chosen vocation. However, students will have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities at one of American Leadership Academy’s other high school campuses.

Will Students Receive Their Core Classes (English, Science, Math, Social Studies) At Applied Technologies?

We offer a rigorous core academic program that meets the Arizona requirements for a high school diploma. Combined with our innovative career and technical education program, students will be well-positioned for life after high school, whether that means going to college or entering the workforce.

Our campus is conveniently located in Mesa, close to Gilbert, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley.

  • What Do I Do if I Need More Information?

How Much Does This School Cost?

ALA Applied Technologies is a tuition-free charter school just like our other ALA schools throughout the East Valley in Gilbert, San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, and Mesa.

What Do I Do if I Need More Information?

We would love to talk with you! Please contact Diane Fox at dfox@alaschools.org and she will be happy to answer your questions and support you in your career exploration!

What if My Student Doesn’t Know What Track They Want to Enroll in Yet?

We don’t expect all of our students to know exactly what career path they want to take as they enter high school. Knowing your child's strengths and interests will allow them to find an academy that suits their skills and sets them up for success. We also offer 9th-grade students a Career Exploration course to help them find their path.
