How to find Archived channels in Slack Application? ›

From your desktop, click More. Click Channels. Search for the channel by name or description, or click the Channel type filter and select Archived channels.

Within the "More Channels" menu, you'll encounter the option to "Show All Channels." Click on this to access a comprehensive list of all channels, including those that have been archived.

Click Channels in the left sidebar. Search for a channel name, or filter channels by channel type or workspace. If you have permission to manage private channels, you can check the box next to Show all private channels.

Tap Home. Tap Later. Switch between In progress, Archived, or Completed to see all your saved items.

Select the channel that you'd like to unarchive from the list. Click on the channel name in the conversation header. Click on Settings, then click on Unarchive this channel.

Archived channels are closed to new activity, but the message history is retained and searchable on paid plans. Deleted channels are permanently removed from a workspace, message history included.

If you can't find a specific channel, it's most likely a private channel. To send messages to a private channel, you need to add your app to the channel manually. Right-click the private channel to which you want to send messages and select View channel details.
