Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo has aligned herself with Shakira after the Colombian's swipe at ex Gerard Pique with a New Year post about betrayal and heartache.

The WAG, 34, responded to the singer-songwriter's dig at the retired Barcelona footballer with three heart emoji's.

It's not the first timeAntonela, who on Monday night left Argentina with her family following a post-World Cup break, has supported Shakira publicly.

Last year the mum-of-three posted five heart emojis in response to Shakira's video confirmation her father William Mebarak was out of hospital following a heavy fall and on an 'upward path.'

It put an end to unfounded claims the WAGs didn't see to eye when they saw more or each other while Pique and Messi were teammates at Barcelona before the seven-times Ballon d'Or winner moved to Paris Saint-Germain.

Shakira took an apparent swipe at her ex Gerard on Sunday as she penned an Instagram postabout healing after betrayal on New Year's Day.

The singer, 45, and the former FC Barcelona player, 35, who sharesons Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, announced their split in June after 11 years together.

Starting the New Year off on a positive note, she wrote: 'Even if our are still open in this new year, time has surgeon's hands. Even if someone has betrayed us, we must continue to trust others.'

She continued: 'When faced with contempt, continue to know your worth. Because there are more good people than indecent ones. More people with empathy than indifference.

'The ones who leave are fewer than the many who stay by our side. Our tears are not in vain, they water the soil our future will spring from and make us more human, so that even while suffering heartache we can continue to love. Shak'

It comes just weeks after Shakira and Gerard reunited in court to ratify their separation child custody agreement.

The exes announced their separation in June after 11 years together, and last month said that they'd come to a suitable arrangement for their children after a 12-hour talk.

They formally signed the agreement in Barcelona, entering and exiting the court separately while flagged by their legal teams.

Gerard, who emotionally retired from football last month, is said to have given his blessing to his former partner's move to Miami in the New Year with their two sons to avoid a lengthy legal battle.

Shakira's wish to move to the city where she used to live and part of her family are based is understood to have been the principal sticking point in the couple's previous failure to strike an out-of-court settlement.

Spanish press have also reported that Gerard will be able to spend ten days a month with his children as part of his custody agreement with Shakira as well as holiday time.

Catalan daily El Periodico , laying bare what it described as the 'small print' of the couple's accord, said: 'Gerard Piqué will have his children 10 days a month and the entirety of the three holiday periods that govern the United States, apart from Christmas and the summer holidays, starting next year.

'This Christmas they will alternate custody at 50% following the calendar of the regional Catalonian government and in the coming years they will do it according to the children's school calendar.

The now former couple announced their split after a dozen years together back in June though it seemed like Shakira did not want the relationship to end at the time.

Gerard is already is in a new relationship with 23-year-old PR student Clara many had wondered how it all ended.

Since the break-up, Pique has been spotted passionately kissing his new love interest as they are far from hiding their new relationship.

Speaking out on the split back in September, Shakira admitted that it had been an 'incredibly difficult' time for her and the family.

Meanwhile, Gerard and Shakirahave reportedly agreed to sell the exclusive Barcelona mansion where they raised their two sons.
